Futurestechs – The last 5-6 years!

Things have been a tad busy here at Futurestechs’ Global HQ since our last regular blog posts in 2020.

2020 was, of course, quite a year for everyone. Having been stuck in the office along with everyone else for long periods we decided to do daily Zoom calls to go through the markets. They went down well at a time when everyone felt a bit isolated.

No sooner were things all back to “normal” when Ukraine got invaded, which prompted Gas and Power markets to go totally bonkers, which lasted well over a year with three distinct spikes in Gas markets the like of which has never been seen before and maybe won’t be again.

Needless to say this was a pretty busy time if your job is to analyse Gas prices. It was a good period for Futurestechs as many traders turned to the charts, with a lack of anything else to reference. We usually try and send out one update per day, our morning report, but if things get busy we send out updates through the day. There were days in that period when we were sending out 4-5 updates a day!

We moved into 2023 with the market in a more settled state of mind, which lasted up until the last few weeks/months when things started to get lively once more.

During this time we have steadily added customers and now have over 100 corporate clients and 400+ daily readers for our reports. We can safely say we are the “industry standard” source of Technical Analysis for Gas, Power and Carbon traders.

The customer “type” has changed in this time too with lots of traders moving to Hedge funds and banks, signing up as soon as they sit down to trade. Thank you, all. You know who you are! This has meant our turnover has tripled in this period.

We have also added a weekly report to the service to cover a few more markets like Seasonal Gas contract, UKAs, Coal and the like, as well as offering colour and thoughts on what the charts are saying for other asset classes that our clients may have an interest in, like Equities and Forex.

We have also added Base Metals to our offering, so now cover LME Copper, Nickel, Zinc and Aluminium in the daily reports run.

Clive has also continued to be a regular speaker on the Conference circuit and can always be found at E-world, Carbon Forward and the Commodity Trading/Energy Trading Weeks.

The training side of the business has also seen growth too with trips to Australia, Rotterdam, Aarhus, Aalborg, Dublin, Milan and Scotland as well as regular courses conducted at client’s sites in London. Clive also continues as a regular lecturer on the STA Diploma Courses and has been asked to present at this years IFTA Conference in London.

And in March 2025 we celebrated 25 years in business with a party in Central London attended by lots of colleagues, industry friends and clients, past and present. It was a memorable night.
