Futurestechs Candlesticks ‘Cheat Sheet’ – A trip down memory lane!

Around London and the world, there are traders who have the Futurestechs Cheat Sheet on their desk. Hopefully they’re being used for identifying key Candlestick Trends, but they do make an excellent bookmark, failing that!

After recently giving it another ‘spruce-up’, we posted a photo on LinkedIn which shows three generations of our Candlestick “Cheat Sheet.” It’s a bit of a trip down memory lane! You can see how the branding has evolved from the early 2000s to today. However, the content hasn’t changed a jot!

The Constant in the Noise

The reason our “Cheat Sheet” hasn’t changed in 25 years is simple: the markets haven’t changed.

The technology has, certainly. We’ve gone from floor trading to screen trading. The hours have changed, we’re now navigating a 22-hour cycle in the Dutch TTF. But the underlying psychology of the humans (and the algorithms programmed by humans) remains the same.

A Doji meant indecision the business was started, and it means indecision today. A Marabuzo candle represented high-conviction institutional intent in 2006, and it represents the same thing in 2026. Whether it’s 18th-century rice traders in Japan or a modern energy desk in Geneva, the battle between the Bulls and the Bears is expressed through the same price action.

Discipline Over Hype

At FuturesTechs, we don’t chase the latest “flavour of the month” indicators. We rely on the foundational pillars that have served our clients since the beginning: Market Profile and Candlestick Analysis.

We’ve applied these same methods to a huge range of markets in Energy, Metals, Financial Futures, Forex & Ags. We’ve been reporting through the 2008 Financial Crash, Russia / Ukraine and more recently the Middle East Crisis. But through all that volatility, our technical “anchor” has stayed put. We look for value, not just price. We look for intent, not just movement.

Cutting Through the Volatility

Our job is to filter that noise so you can see the structural shifts to go in conjunction with the fundamental analysis. We are just one piece of the puzzle!

This “Cheat Sheet” is a reminder that while the screens get faster, the principles of price discovery are timeless. We provide the same disciplined, industry-standard research today that we did 25 years ago, helping over 100+ institutional desks trade with confidence.

The logos might get a facelift every now and then, but the methodology is here to stay.
